Fine Valencian arts

The Museu de Belles Arts San Pío V is Valencia’s Museum of Fine Arts, founded in 1913. It houses approximately 2,000 works, most of them dating from the 14th to the 17th century.

In early 2007, the Museum and the Valencian Government finished a project to build the Ambassador Vich’s Palace Courtyard inside the museum.

Goya and Velázquez

Spanish icons

Some of its most popular paintings include a self portrait of Diego Velázquez and Goya’s Children at play.

Located in the St. Pius V Palace building (hence the name), this big museum also features sections dedicated to sculpture and archaeological findings.
