Palau de les Arts

Valencia's Opera House

Opened in 2005, it was the last of the buildings that are part of Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences to be inaugurated. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (Queen Sophia’s Palace of the Arts) is an opera house and cultural center.

The Main Hall can host up to 1.470 people and functions primarily for opera.

An impressive building

For Opera lovers

It features a main hall, an auditorium, the Martí i Soler Theatre and a masterclass room used for chamber music performances and conferences.

Due to some problems with its architecture, the building’s façade had to be restored and the palace has recently opened its doors again to the general audience.

Inside the Palace

Guided tours

If you’re not into opera, but would like to see the palace from the inside, you can still take a guided tour.

While it’s not as cheap as others in the city, for 8 euros you can spend 50 minutes visiting the main halls of the Palau and learning about its history.

Contrapunto restaurant

Dinner at the opera

The Palace of the Arts features the Contrapunto restaurant, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner at the terrace, right outside the building.
